Storm Causes Roof Damage to Jacksonville Home
This family’s Jacksonville home suffered serious damage after a recent severethunderstorm. Additions made to the home before the storm changed the layout of the roof. The contractor had added a flat section to the roof in order to extend it. Due to high winds, this flat section of the roof peeled back during the storm, allowing for water intrusion into the home.
Phase one in completing this job was to tarp the damaged roof to prevent additional water entry from the next rain, which was expected the next day. Only after the source of water intrusion was stopped could SERVPRO of Jacksonville Northwest dry the inside, clean up debris and restore the property. There was damage to insulation and ceiling in the attic and the inside walls. All of this had to be dried and restored. The homeowners were grateful that our 24/7 services were available to them in their time of need so we could cover the damage before the next big rain came.
